Panama Stuns USMNT: Copa America Knockout Hopes in Jeopardy

n a dramatic Copa America encounter, Panama delivered a significant blow to the United States Men's National Team (USMNT) by securing a 2-1 victory. This result has put the host nation's hopes of advancing to the knockout stage in jeopardy.

The match started poorly for the USMNT as Tim Weah received a red card for a foul on Roderick Miller. Despite being a man down, the US took the lead with a stunning long-range goal by Folarin Balogun. However, Panama quickly responded with a goal from Cesar Blackman to level the score.

In the second half, Panama capitalized on their numerical advantage, with Jose Fajardo scoring the decisive goal. Although Panama's Adalberto Carrasquilla was sent off later, the USMNT couldn't find an equalizer. This defeat leaves the USMNT tied on points with Panama but facing a tougher challenge against Uruguay in their final group-stage match.

The aftermath of the match was marred by the US Soccer Federation condemning racist abuse directed at US players online, emphasizing that such behavior has no place in the sport.
